Parents, we are thrilled to share the exciting March Madness day that Mrs. Tracy Bivens' and Mrs. Haley Brooke McDowell's 3rd-grade classes recently had. It was a day full of fun activities designed to help students review for the upcoming TCAP test. The best part? All the activities were centered around basketball, making the day even more engaging and entertaining for the students.
In the math activities, students explored different-sized basketball courts and found each court's area and perimeter. They loved the challenge of measuring and calculating the dimensions of each court, and it was an excellent way for them to review essential math skills in a fun and interactive way.
For ELA, students completed six different stations that were all basketball-themed. From learning about the history of basketball to analyzing the character of Michael Jordan, the stations offered a diverse range of activities designed to help students review for the upcoming TCAP test. They even enjoyed some delicious HollyPop popcorn while using adjectives to describe it!
Overall, both classes had a blast with the fun competition that came with the day. The students could learn and review key skills while having a great time with their classmates. We want to thank our amazing students for their hard work and participation, and a special shoutout to Mrs. Holly for the yummy popcorn!
We hope this exciting day of March Madness has given you a glimpse into the engaging and fun activities your children are participating in at school. We are committed to providing a safe and enriching learning environment, and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you soon!
Attention to all upcoming juniors and their parents/guardians!
We are excited to announce that there will be an informational meeting held at the Library of Camden Central High School on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to provide you with all the necessary information about the Middle College Program available through Jackson State. This program allows eligible students to take college courses while still in high school, giving them a head start on their college education. To be eligible for this program, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
This program is an excellent way for students to challenge themselves, earn college credits, and gain valuable experience before graduating high school. We encourage all eligible students and their parents/guardians to attend this meeting and learn more about the Middle College Program. At the meeting, you will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from Jackson State and ask any questions about the program. We hope to see you there!
If your child did not bring home the Solar Eclipse release form, here is a QR link to the form. This will be needed for your child to participate in any school events on Monday, April 8.
We hope everyone has an extraordinary Spring Break!!!
Mrs. Hannah Myrick's 3rd graders had an exciting and engaging day today, where they put their fraction skills to the test. The class was divided into eight "ice cream parlors," each with its unique set of tasks and orders to complete. The highlight of the day was the Ice Cream Creation Station, where students were challenged to create their ice cream orders using their knowledge of fractions.
To celebrate the end of their successful fraction unit, students were treated to a delicious ice cream bar, where they could customize their treats with all their favorite toppings. It was a fun and memorable way for the students to celebrate their hard work and learning, and they all had a fantastic time.
