Bicycles for Holladay School
Holladay School students and staff now have bicycles to ride outside! We worked hard to get donations of bicycles and helmets from organizations across the state. Biking helps boost brain power and concentration, improves fitness, and helps with mental health, among many other benefits. The students will greatly benefit from their biking time at school.
A HUGE thank you goes out to KJ Garner of Bike Fun-Nashville, Kat Volzer and Blake Pierce of White Oak Bicycle Co-op (Chattanooga area), the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, The Epilepsy Foundation, Lisa Dunn and Chasity Bell of TDOT, and Holladay School PTH. This would not have been possible without these people working together for the students of Holladay School!
Kat Volzer, Blake Pierce, and KJ Garner, along with two representatives from The Epilepsy Foundation, spent the day with Coach Taylor Wright at P.E. for a “Bike Rodeo” for Kindergarten through 5th grade students. They spent time with each class, teaching bicycle safety rules, hand signals, and proper helmet fitting. We had a blast learning about our new bikes and genuinely appreciate their time and dedication to us!
The students could practice their new skills on a biking course with cones and other objects. The adults were at each checkpoint, ensuring they used their hand signals and knew the bike safety rules. Each student got his/her helmet fitted properly to take home to keep. They then received a TDOT backpack full of biking goodies (bike lights, sunglasses, bicycle safety book, water bottle, etc.) to take home. The students are thrilled to have 42 bicycles left here at school to ride during their P.E. time!
KJ Garner, Bike Fun of Nashville
The first beneficiary of Bike Fun donations is Holladay Elementary School in Holladay, Tenn. Teacher Taylor Wright reached out to various bicycle-related nonprofits and advocacy groups across the state looking for bikes of all sizes for her PE classes. Bike Fun was able to assist with a donation of 22 bikes, repair work stands, bike maintenance supplies, and bike maintenance handouts.

Kat Volzer, Director of Programming for White Oak Bicycle Co-op
The White Oak Bicycle Cooperative (Red Bank, TN) is a volunteer-run non-profit 501(c)(3) bicycle organization with a mission to improve the health and well-being of the community by increasing access to bicycles and bicycle repair services, focusing on children, low-income households, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

TDOT
The students loved their helmets and backpacks, which were full of goodies!
PTH
The Holladay School PTH and Principal Amy Davis were very generous in allowing the funds to be used to store the bikes. They purchased a much-needed bike shed, and we are so thankful!
Heather Smith, UT Extension office
Thank you for the water bottles and first aid kits for the students!
Bobby “Flash” Melton
Thank you for documenting our Bike Rodeo and helping us spread the word about all the good stuff Holladay is doing and the organizations making it possible!

2024 Graduation Information for Camden Central High School
The 2024 Camden Central Graduation will be this Friday night at 7:30. Weather permitting, the ceremonies will be held at Wright Field.
If inclement weather conditions prevent an outdoor ceremony, we will decide to hold the event in the gymnasium. Moving to the gymnasium will limit our space. We kindly request parents and guests refrain from moving to the floor to take pictures during the ceremony. We will have a photographer to take pictures of each senior. Your cooperation in following these guidelines is greatly appreciated.
Commencement ceremonies are a formal recognition of our students' academic success. We want to ensure that all parents and guests hear and see their graduates as they walk across the stage. Please help us make this a formal event for our students.
If you have questions about the location, you can check the Camden Central or Benton County Schools Facebook page or call Camden Central at 731-584-7254.
