Holly Meyer with Students

Briarwood Elementary School proudly announces that Ms. Holly Meyer has been selected as the Teacher of the Year! With 18 years of teaching experience at the school, Ms. Meyer is beloved by her students and respected by her colleagues.

Ms. Meyer's dedication to her students and her craft is evident in everything she does. Her fondest memory of teaching is her 3rd-grade teacher reading to her class after lunch. Gathering around the teacher's desk, each student would receive a small piece of candy as they listened intently to her stories.  Ms. Meyer tries to recreate those magical moments in her classroom daily, fostering a love of learning and a sense of community among her students.

Her classroom is an incredible place to be, filled with inquisitive, caring, and eager learners. Ms. Meyer's students are like family to her, and they call her their "school mama." They are her "school kiddos," and she cherishes their time together.

Ms. Meyer's guiding philosophy is that each student should leave her classroom with their hearts filled with memories and their brains filled with knowledge. She sees her role as a teacher, mentor, role model, and friend. Her students know they can always rely on her for support and guidance, both in and out of the classroom.

Briarwood Elementary School is incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated and inspiring teacher in Ms. Holly Meyer. Her commitment to her students and craft inspires us all, and we are grateful for all she does. Congratulations, Ms. Meyer, on being named Teacher of the Year!
