The Briarwood 100 Mile Club is a great initiative encouraging students to stay active, fit, and healthy. The club meets once a week on Tuesdays after school, and it is coached by Taylor Wright, a dedicated P.E. teacher who has volunteered time and energy to lead this program.
The club has been initiated and supported by our Coordinated School Health program, which recognizes the importance of physical activity in promoting overall well-being and academic success. The C.S.H. program has provided funding, resources, and guidance to ensure the 100 Mile Club runs smoothly and effectively.
Since September 5th, when the club started, the students have been logging their walking and running miles every week. The goal is to reach 100 miles by the end of the school year, but the real prize is the sense of accomplishment, camaraderie, and fun that comes with being part of the club.
As of December 12th, the students have collectively covered a distance of 686 miles, which is no small feat! This achievement is a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and hard work. We are very proud of these students and hope they will stay active and healthy for years to come.
