Have you ever heard of Manufacturing Day? It's a fantastic event that starts on the first Friday of October and goes on the entire month, and it's all about showcasing the innovation and excitement of modern manufacturing. Companies and schools across the United States open their doors to give people a glimpse of the cutting-edge technology and career opportunities available in this dynamic industry.
This year, Carhartt and Jones Plastic were two businesses that extended a warm invitation to Camden Central High School students to tour their manufacturing sites. Not only did these businesses take time out of their busy schedules to give our students a tour, but they also provided them with delicious meals. It was an incredible experience for the students to see first-hand the amazing work that goes into manufacturing.
Special thanks are also extended to Janna Hellums, Northwest Region Director for the TN Department of Economic and Community Development; Maleia Evans, Business Services Representative for the Northwest and Southwest TN Workforce Boards; Erica Lynch, Assistant Principal for Camden Central High School; and Jennifer Wheatley, Economic Development Director for the Benton County Industrial Development Board for their invaluable contributions to making this event a success.
As the manufacturing industry continues to grow, millions of high-paying, high-tech jobs will be available, and events like Manufacturing Day help create excitement and awareness about the future of this field. Let's come together to explore the world of modern manufacturing and help our communities and future generations thrive!
